Extractions

An extraction is performed when a tooth becomes impacted because it is prevented from growing into its normal position in the mouth by gum tissue, bone or other teeth. Teeth may also be extracted to make more room in the mouth prior to straightening the remaining teeth (orthodontic treatment), because they are so badly positioned that straightening is impossible or to remove teeth that are so badly decayed or broken that they cannot be restored. For an immediate denture full mouth extraction are sometimes required and can be done all in the same day. Tooth extractions can usually be performed with local anesthesia.

Wisdom Teeth

For most people it is beneficial to have their wisdom teeth removed simply because there is no room for them in their mouth with out creating crouding in their existing teeth. This procedure can be done in office under IV Sedation if you choose. The IV allows us to administer an anti-inflamitory that decreases swelling and quickens healing, as well as keeping you comfortably relaxed with little to no recollection of the process. Dr. Tobler has performed Wisdom teeth extractions comfortably weekly throughout his 20 years of practice.
